James

Homeless and alone, 71-year-old James was taken to the hospital with a chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder that had been troubling him for decades. With no medical insurance, no Social Security card, no savings and no family ties, James had nowhere to go. He was released to a medical bed at Camillus House, where he was able to convalesce. The people at Camillus House also guided him through reclaiming his identity and accessing all the government benefits to which he was entitled. James, who was a boxer in his youth, has a new lease on life and is ready to fight the next round. He plans to market a new instructional book and video package to schools and hotels in South Florida, using the same skills he honed promoting sporting events and entertainers. He gives credit to Camillus House, "the most wonderful organization I can ever imagine. There is nothing I wouldn't do for them.
