Shepherd’s Court Permanent Housing

Camillus House provides a supported living environment to formerly homeless persons through its permanent housing programs. Individuals residing in this type of housing have transitioned out of temporary housing, but still require some sort of support in order to maintain their stability. Although called “permanent housing,” most residents eventually move out into unsupported housing after they have increased their income and become more comfortable with their independence, sometimes after several years.

Shepherd’s Court will provide 80 units of permanent housing at the new Camillus House campus. Half of these units will be efficiencies offering “safe-haven” housing to persons with mental illness. The other 40 units will be one-bedroom apartments offering supported housing to individuals transitioning out of treatment.

Naming rights for the Shepherd's Court Permanent Housing program is $5 million and supports:

  • general construction costs within the new campus
  • endowment and operational support for the new campus
