Medical Clinic & Respite Care

The medical clinic, which will be operated by Camillus Health Concern, the only federally qualified health center for the homeless in Miami, will provide primary health care services to individuals residing on the campus as well as to non-residential clients. The clinic will provide screenings and treatment for problems particularly prevalent among the chronically homeless population, including diabetes and hypertension.

In addition to the regular primary health care, several specific services will be made available to women such as cervical cancer screenings and breast cancer screenings while mammography and culposcopy will be provided on a case-by-case basis.

Subspecialty services such as dental care, podiatry, cardiology, urology, dermatology, and physical therapy will be provided at Camillus Health Concern’s main center.

Finally, patients who are not sick enough to be admitted to the hospital, but need bed rest in order to recover from their ailment will be cared for through the medical clinic’s respite care program.
